OPTIST的设计灵感源自自身糟糕的近视体验，加之近视也同样影响了全球相当大部分人的生活质量。据世界卫生组织在2019年发布的第一份《世界视力报告》中显示现在全球近视人数约为26亿，19岁以下近视者为3.12亿。而到2050年50%的人会近视，高度近视会达到9.5%，即9亿人。

中国则是全球近视发病率最高的国家，目前中国近视人口多达六亿，高中生和大学生近视率已超7成，小学生近视率也接近40%，并逐年增加。归根结底是人们忽视了保护视力的重要性，不清楚定期做视力检查对预防近视以及防止近视继续加深的必要。

The inspiration for OPTIST design is originated from my bad experience with myopia and its bad effect on the quality of life of a considerable number of people around the world. More than 70% of high school and college students and 40% of primary school students have myopia, and the population is increasing year by year. The reasons are that people have neglected the importance of protecting eyesight, and take no notice of the necessity of regular eye exams to prevent myopia and prevent myopia from becoming severe.
